Perched atop the Niagara Escarpment sits the community of Waterdown. Its name means where the waters meet; referring to the number of streams that join there. One of the noted natural attractions is located at the Great Falls, where up until 1912 local mills were still powered by water wheels.

Waterdown is a rapidly growing town, yet it still maintains much of its old, warm charm. It has numerous historical buildings including the American House, the original Town Hall (now the Rotary) and the library.
